KAI Commuter Implements Strategies to Optimize Commuter Line Traffic in Jakarta

Manggarai Station has been used as a transit station for several KAI Commuter Line travel routes. This has made KRL user traffic congested to the point of overflowing.

However, as of June 1, KAI Commuter will begin implementing Gapeka 2023 and implementing a strategy to optimize Commuter Line traffic and make it easier for users.

“In the implementation of Gapeka 2023 as of June 1, KAI Commuter will continue to make service improvements for Jabodetabek Commuter Line transportation users on each trip. Such as increasing travel speed, reducing headway and adding Commuter Line trips on several corridors that cross busy users,” he wrote. KAI Commuter on its official release.

KAI Commuter plans as of June 1 2023 to increase the frequency of trips on the Bogor Commuter Line. They will operate as many as 420 Bogor Commuter Line trips with 41 circuits ready to operate on the route.

Then, to prevent passengers from overflowing at the Manggarai Transit Station, KAI Communter added 2 trips to a total of 50 trips with a 5-minute headway on the Depok-Manggarai/Jakarta Kota route, especially during morning rush hours from 04.00 WIB to 08.00 WIB.

Meanwhile, during the afternoon rush hour, 15.00 WIB to 20.00 WIB, KAI Commuter adds 1 trip to 52 trips with an average headway of 5 minutes for the Commuter Line across Jakarta Kota-Nambo/Bogor.

KAI Commuter also added 13 trips on the Manggarai-Kampung Bandan route to 33 trips to break up the traffic density of transit users at Manggarai Station who want to use the Commuter Line towards Sudirman/Tanah Abang/Duri during the morning rush hour.

Meanwhile, during the afternoon rush hour, KAI Commuter added 17 trips to 40 trips on the Kampung Bandan-Manggarai route.

“As an alternative option during morning and evening rush hours, Commuter Line users around the Tangerang area who are going to or from the central office area in the Sudirman area and its surroundings can use the Basoetta Commuter Line travel service,” wrote KAI Commuter.

“Users can get on or off at transit stations such as Manggarai Station, BNI City Station, Duri Station and Batu Ceper Station,” they concluded.
