Their production will be carried out by the plant of the Niarmedik group of companies in the Kaluga Region. Representatives of both companies told Vedomosti about this. Production of tests, according to a representative of AFK Sistema, will begin after receiving a registration certificate from Roszdravnadzor. This should happen before April 10, he hopes.

We are talking about the production of a test developed by Sistema-Biotech in March according to the polymerase chain reaction (PCR) method. The company has already handed over the production technology to Niarmedik, said Artem Sirazutdinov, managing partner of AFK Sistema.

According to Sirazutdinov, Niarmedik in the future will not be the only Sistema-Biotech partner in the production of tests for COVID-19. Negotiations are already underway with other manufacturers of medical devices, Sirazutdinov said without details.

Niarmedic is a Russian manufacturer of the popular drug Kagocel for the treatment of influenza and other respiratory infections. Among the products produced by the company there are also test systems for identifying a person’s identity through DNA and rapid tests for the detection of drugs and alcohol in human saliva.

The Niarmedik plant can produce 50,000 tests for COVID-19 per week, and if necessary this number can be increased to 200,000, said Alexander Mikhaylichenko, general director of the company.
