Erick Thohir has officially advanced as a candidate for Chairman PSSI for the 2023-2027 period when the Extraordinary Congress (KLB) will be held on February 16.
The Minister for State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) arrived at the PSSI office, GBK Arena, Jakarta, Sunday (15/1) at 10.45 WIB.
Erick was accompanied by his supporters. Interestingly, those who accompanied Erick were the Main Director of Persis Solo, Kaesang Pangarep, Chairman of Rans Nusantara FC RaffiAhmad, to Atta Halilintar.
Not to forget other high-ranking club officials such as the Director of PT Persib Bandung Dignified, Teddy Tjahjono and the owner of Bali United, Pieter Tanuri who is also still a member of the PSSI Executive Committee.
Support for Erick to run as general chairman of the new PSSI was also given by Kaesang, Raffi and Atta.
Kaesang believes Erick will be able to carry out his duties as the number one person at PSSI.
“As we said earlier, Mr. Teddy said, even though the minister has only been in Exact for one year, the impact for Persis is extraordinary. So he will be able to lead PSSI,” said Kaesang.
Meanwhile, Raffi Ahmad assessed that the figure of Erick Thohir had the guts to be able to lead the parent organization of football in the country.
“We support Pak Erick because we believe that Pak Erick has the guts to fix Indonesian football,” said Raffi.
Previously to the media, Erick Thohir thanked the voters. He also stressed that guts are needed to make Indonesian football clean and performant.
“There have been many theories in improving Indonesian football. Is that right? There are many theories and many concepts. Actually what needs to be done is that we have the guts for clean and accomplished football. That’s the most important thing,” he told the media crew.
“That’s why I thank the voters who came. There are Mr. Teddy, Persis, Rans[Nusantara]Atta [Halilintar] and there is Mas Baim who has an eye on the football industry. I thank the voters.”
Erick Thohir is the second person who has officially registered himself as a candidate for general chairman of PSSI. Previously, the chairman of the DPD, La Nyalla Mattalitti, had already submitted the file for the nomination of the chairman of PSSI on Friday (13/1).
