“Ten thousand Chechen fighters are already participating in this noble cause,” Kadyrov wrote.
He pointed out that theologians, famous Chechen elders, widows and mothers of employees of the republic’s security agencies, as well as female military personnel, have expressed their support for Russian President Vladimir Putin.
“This is the kind of consolidation of society dreamed of by our first president (Vladimir Putin – br), the hero of Russia Akhmat-Haji Kadyrov, and that the state needs. Unity, spirituality and obedience to Allah the Almighty: they are exactly those values for which our ancestors died and each of us is ready to repeat his unforgettable feat, “wrote Kadyrov.
Earlier, the Chechen president reported that around 10,000 Chechen fighters were fighting in the area of Russia’s so-called special military operation in Ukraine.
“Due to the conflict in Ukraine, Russian regions do not need to postpone the New Year celebrations, one of the most important holidays in Russia,” Russian Deputy Defense Minister Viktor Goremikin said, quoted by Reuters.
According to him, the armed forces are grateful for the active support of the population.
The army has all the necessary equipment to provide for the front line and mobilized troops that are currently undergoing training, he added.
His remarks came after the St. Petersburg city council said it was canceling the traditional New Year and Christmas celebrations and would use the money allocated to provide “additional equipment, in addition to that for volunteers and mobilizers.”
