Kaczyński indicated who will be the president of PKO BP – Puls Biznesu

About the reasons for the change of the president of PKO BP, the merger of Orlen with Lotos and changes in taxes – says Jarosław Kaczyński in an interview for Interia.

Jarosław Kaczyński, deputy prime minister and head of Law and Justice, gave an extensive interview to the Interia portal, in which he talks a lot about politics, friction in the power camp and the opposition. But there were also economic threads.

– The new president of PKO BP is to be a man who is on the bank’s management board, a specialist who is not associated with the party – declares Jarosław Kaczyński, deputy prime minister and head of the security committee.

He argues that the resignation of Zbigniew Jagiełło, a close associate of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki, is not a manifestation of a personal war and an attempt to weaken the position of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.

– It had nothing to do with the position of prime minister. I am obliged to some discretion, I will not go into details, although I would like to point out that there were no charges against the president, Zbigniew Jagiełło. Neither professional nor other matters, said the PiS head in an interview Interia portal.

He assured that he himself had no personal animosity towards Zbigniew Jagiełło. Answering the question of whether he has an idea of what to do with Jagiełło within the ruling camp, he explained that it is Prime Minister Morawiecki who knows this banking world better than he does.

A few days ago, Gazeta Wyborcza informed that Daniel Obajtek could say goodbye to the chairman of PKN Orlen as part of the friction in the ruling camp. But from the intelligence it can be concluded that the head of the fuel concern has strong support from the head of the party. Jarosław Kaczyński strongly emphasizes the importance, significance and essence of the merger of Orlen and Lotos. He believes that it will allow the creation of a concern at the European level.

– We want it to be a petrochemical concern and, on the other hand, an energy concern, hence PGNiG in this package. Only then can it be a great force. I see the campaigns against Mr. (Daniel) Obajtkowi as part of the attack on these initiatives, assessed Jarosław Kaczyński.

He argues that the fuel fusion will build value.

– This is a very big chance to strengthen the unity of the Intermarium – to open up to Romania, Lithuania, and Germany, said Kaczyński.

He added that “… such a merger will enable us to create a corporation that will essentially block the possibility of a hostile takeover.”

If it were not for the connection with Orlen – in the opinion of the politician – Lotos would have to go bankrupt over time, because it will not get far today on pure oil.

The PiS president believes that the tax changes proposed in the Polish Lada are primarily aimed at supporting the lower earners. He estimates that over 18 million taxpayers will benefit from them, especially the lower levels of the Polish earnings ladder.

They will be beneficial or neutral for 90 percent of Poles. We try to support the part of society that is worse off. And it’s not that it’s supporting those who don’t want to work. The goal is clear: at the beginning of the next decade, catch up with the European standard of living – perhaps not yet in the West, but in the South. When it comes to percentages, it is 100 percent. of the average EU, Italy or Spain. We continue to look at being closer to countries such as France or Germany. But you should also notice the less earners – emphasizes the politician.
