Tonight the EC KAC in Linz is looking for the third win in a row, while the Linzers fight for their seventh win of the season in their 30th game. Both teams can build on fresh strength.
There have already been two duels between the two teams this season. The first game won at the start of the Linz season in Klagenfurt with 4: 1, the second at the beginning of December KAC won 4: 0.
A lot has happened since then: The KAC is currently in a secure place in the top 5, while the Black Wings stagger from one defeat to the next and are left in last place.
Today we can speak of a mandatory victory for the red jackets, which should be achieved in Linz. But it is positive that both teams can count on new strengths.
At KAC, Johannes Bischofberger, who skipped the Carinthian derby last Sunday due to a minor lower body injury as a precautionary measure, is fully fit again and will return to the lineup against Linz. Only the long-term failures of David Fischer and Niki Kraus are missing. By the way, Sebastian Dahm will start in goal.
For the first time, the new Latvian acquisition Zintis Nauris Zusevics, who will provide more depth and thus also relief in the Linz squad, will be in the lineup for the Linzers and thus celebrate his debut in the dress of the Stahlstädter.
