Kabát to Perform at Music Festivals in the Czech Republic and Slovakia
Popular Czech rock band Kabát has announced that they will be performing at various music festivals in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, including the Topfest festival in ilina. The band will also be making a special appearance at the Vysoina fest in Jihlava.
Lead singer Josef Vojtek confirmed during a press conference that the festival performances will not be shortened sets, and that festival-goers can expect the same experience as fans at other tour stops, including the stage setup and all other elements. Bassist and lyricist Milan Špalek added that there will be no playback, and the band will be performing live for the entire duration of their set.
Kabát’s manager, Radek Havlík, stated that the main focus of the upcoming tour, named “Po ďáblích velký turné” (On Devil’s Big Tour), will not be primarily on promoting their latest album “El Presidento,” which will be reflected in the setlist. Fans can expect to hear some songs that Kabát hasn’t played in a long time.
To the delight of guitarist Tomáš Krulich, the band will also be performing their hit song “Colorado,” which helped catapult Kabát to mass popularity.
As part of the band’s celebrations, they will be releasing a box set of their complete discography on vinyl, as well as a third edition of their album “Kabát Originals,” which will include three CDs. The third edition will feature the albums “Corrida,” “Banditi di Praga,” “Do pekla/do nebe,” and “El Presidento.”
When asked about how Kabát has managed to stay together for so many years without any personnel changes, frontman Vojtek replied, “The foundation is that we are a group from the same place and the same pub. We have experienced everything together from the beginning and we stay grounded. As someone who is involved in the music industry, I occasionally meet participants from various singing competitions on television. I have to admit that their behavior sometimes surprises me. Many of them don’t even know how to say hello. They are used to being treated like big stars during television broadcasts, and they don’t realize that it all ends when the cameras go off.”
“I always want to tell them, ‘Try standing in the middle of a square in Drážďany and see how many people come to you for an autograph… We are a Czech band, we sing in Czech, and it’s clear to us that nobody knows us beyond the borders, and we accept that,” Vojtek added.
While the band members may not see each other every day or talk on the phone once a week, when they do come together, they have plenty to talk about. The most important thing for them is that there is always fun in the band, concluded Vojtek.
Fans of Kabát can look forward to their energetic performances at the upcoming music festivals, where they will showcase their iconic rock sound and entertain the crowds with their timeless hits.
