ABIDJAN- It’s now official, the draw for the next CAN which will be played in Ivory Coast was made this Thursday. Guinea, housed in the same group as Gambia, Senegal and Cameroon, will have a big challenge. The Guinea coach is aware of this but remains optimistic. Kaba Diawara joins our colleagues from Canal+ suggested that Guinea will have its card to play in this very tough group.
« It’s the group of death as they say, but we’re not afraid of anyone. We respect everyone and I hope it goes well. Either way, we really have our chances. We will have to be strong and ready from the first match. We don’t know who we’re going to start the competition against, but it doesn’t matter, because Gambia eliminated us, it’s going to be a revenge and the others are former champions. It’s perhaps not a gift for the others to have us in the same group, we leave with a good chance of qualifying » estimated the former Guinean international.
Guinea will go to the town of Yamoussoukro to battle with teams well known to the Guinean sporting public. We remember during the last CAN, Guinea shared the same group as Senegal, before being eliminated by Gambia in the round of 16.
