The first goal came straight from a summer signing. Watanabe headed in the 0-1. Before the break, Orban doubled the lead for the Buffalos. After the break, Harelbeke came back thanks to Oduro, but then KAA Gent went up a gear.
Newcomer Jelacic scored from eleven meters. Fernandez-Pardo, Abdullahi and De Ridder then scored after which Goodluck secured the final score with a double.
