BTS won four awards at the MTV Europe Music Awards on Sunday. The K-pop group won in the categories Best Song, Best Group, Best Virtual Live and Biggest Fans.
Coldplay and DJ Khaled also both won an award. Coldplay ran away with Best Rock and DJ Khaled’s music video Pop star received the award for Best Video. Lady Gaga was nominated seven times but won only one award. The singer was awarded Best Artist.
MTV added three new categories to the channel’s European music awards this year. For the first time, images could be won for Best Latin, Video for Good (for the best video with a social message, ed.) And Best Virtual Live. Best Latin was won by Karol G, Video for Good by HER, and BTS ran away with the best live performance.
Due to the corona crisis, the awards were presented without an audience physically present. The show featured performances from Alicia Keys, David Guetta and Little Mix.
