Konstantinos Krikonis is a candidate for municipal councilor with the faction “Unity of Citizens of Nea Ioannina”, he participates for the first time in the municipal elections of October and explains to “N.A.” the reasons for their participation but also his goals for our municipality.
Why did you decide to run?
I decided to be a candidate for municipal councilor in the October elections, with the faction “Citizens’ Unity-Nea Ioannina”, alongside Thomas Bega, because I want to contribute with my knowledge, experiences and experiences to the solution of the city’s daily issues and improving the quality of life of my fellow citizens.
Because I know that together with our faction I can create a future for our country.
Returning from Thessaloniki, after 15 years of studies and professional development, I live and work in the city where I was born and I am confronted daily with problems, which, judging by the dynamics and potential of the city, I believe should have been solved a long time ago.
Why with the faction, Unity of Citizens of New Ioannina, and not with another?
Initially the head of the faction, recognizing my work in data analysis, research, studies related to mental health, but also the tourism industry, asked me to collaborate. When I got to know aspects of his personality and realized his level of empathy, knowledge about the city’s problems and his passion for solving them, I decided that I should support him.
Realizing that the character and personality of the head of the faction Thomas Bega is identical to my own temperament and analyzing the program of the faction, I noticed that the interventions proposed will provide solutions to many problems and in cooperation with the citizens we can improve the quality city life.
What is your opinion on the current situation of the municipality of Ioanniton?
It is pointless to talk and treat our Municipality with past logic, but I believe that we are at a pivotal point, where it is necessary to carry out important interventions immediately, to improve the living conditions of all citizens.
What do you think should be given special weight by the next municipal authority of Ioannina?
Judging by the current image of the city where parking, access for the disabled, waste management and vagrants are a daily chore for the citizen, and having experience working with other cities, organizations and businesses I am convinced that this image is being created due to insufficient management of the resources, means and also the personnel of the municipality.
The next municipal authority must immediately provide effective solutions, carefully weighing each intervention, utilizing modern tools and resources.
Your message to voters. Why should they support the Citizens’ Unity of New Ioannina, why Thomas Bega and why you personally?
Our faction consists of people with experience, knowledge and willingness to offer in order to create a city that is smart, modern, and friendly to citizens and visitors.
My experience in the field of research mainly in matters of human resources management, mental health, work fatigue and quality of life give me the opportunity to offer the next municipal authority the tools and knowledge for more substantial decision-making, which will have as a primary objective the improvement of the work provided to the citizen and the improvement of his daily life.
