The ‘Copyright Market’, held as a face-to-face event for the first time in three years, is a business-to-business (B2B) transaction event that invites foreign publishers to consult with domestic publishers on export rights copyright.
This year, 40 publishers from 11 countries will participate face-to-face, from Asian countries such as Japan and Taiwan to Europe and North America such as France, Norway, Italy and Canada.
Representative publishing companies from all over the world participate in the consultation, such as Innesia Gramedia Group, the Japanese Gorya and the Thai Amarin Publishing.
Around 10 companies, including Taiwanese Azod, are seeking advice on importing intellectual property (IP) rights related to publishing.
Thirteen Chinese companies, which cannot participate face-to-face due to quarantine policies for overseas arrivals in China, will participate online.
In Korea, 41 companies, including Munhakdongne, Sagyeol, Gyowon and Miraeen, will participate and conduct 480 export consultations in two days.
Among them, companies that focus on exporting publishing-related intellectual property (IP) rights have been included such as Changbi, Sam & Parkers, Gojeunok ENT, Safe House, and Munpia.
On the 29th a seminar will be held to present the current state of the North American publishing market.
James Patterson, head of copyright at Portage & Main Press, a Canadian publishing house, presents the current state of the North American publishing market and strategies for entering the North American publishing market.
It also runs a publication export orientation (consulting) program.
Two Chinese and Japanese export experts are at the event to provide practical advice.
Around 200 books from national exhibitors will also be on display.
