JYSK is leaving Russia forever. “We see no other possibility”

The JYSK chain is permanently closing its stores in Russia

In connection with the ongoing Russian invasion of Ukraine JYSK announced on March 3 the temporary closure of all its stores in Russia. However, it was made clear on Wednesday that the network had finally made a decision to withdraw irretrievably from the Russian market.

According to the published announcement, the stores of the Danish chain will remain open on March 31 to sell off the remaining goods. Subsequently, JYSK stores in Russia will be closed irretrievably and the lease agreements will be terminated. In turn, Russian employees of this network will receive remuneration in accordance with local law.

Much western firm decided to limit activities or withdraw from Russia. On March 3, the network published an announcement on this matter IKEA.

“The war has a huge impact on people and causes serious disruptions in the supply chain and commercial conditions, so the group companies have decided to temporarily suspend IKEA’s operations in Russia” – reads the statement of Inter IKEA brand owners and the owner of Ingka Group stores.
