Viewers request Kim Junsu’s appearance, and KBS Music Bank responds: “It’s hard to explain why we don’t have him on the show.”
Last month, in the KBS Viewers’ Rights column, a viewer requested that Kim Junsu (XIA) appear on KBS’s music broadcast in November. The petition with the title ‘Guarantee a fair chance to appear on broadcasts’ obtained 3,585 consent signatures in one month.
On the 11th, Kim Kwang-soo, the lead producer of ‘Music Bank’, said:
“It is impossible to reveal whether it will appear or not, in a singer who has not revealed his intentions to act.”

“The hiring of Music Bank inevitably has the character of selection and exclusion at the same time. If the reason for the inevitable exclusion is explained, the artist or the corresponding fans can accept it as derogatory “
Kim Kwang-soo
said. “I know there is no station that explains this.”

Furthermore, he added, “KBS plans to provide fair opportunities to various singers in the future.”
After more than 3,500 signatures, the head of the KBS Ent. said: “We cannot speak for artists who have not communicated their desire to be active.”
Full text of ‘Music Bank’ response:
Thanks to viewers who show interest and affection for KBS shows.
I will respond to the request as lead producer for Music Bank.
‘Music Bank’ is a show that decides the ranking according to music sales, album sales, number of streaming plays, and viewership points during weekly shows.
Due to this, we cannot say whether or not an artist who has not decided on their promotions will be on the show. It is also difficult to explain why certain artists are not invited to the show.
Choosing certain artists to be on Music Bank unfortunately automatically skips others.
If we try to explain why certain artists were chosen over others, it could inevitably come across as criticism for those artists. KBS plans to give opportunities to various artists in the future.
Thank you.
