Juventus will participate in the next Champions League. On the pitch, the Bianconeri had already won the right to take part in the top European competition, but for officiality it was necessary to wait for UEFA’s moves on the Superlega issue. The Corriere dello Sport analyzes the issue, explaining the background behind the letter sent by the organization chaired by Ceferin to the Juventus club in which registration is confirmed.
UEFA, and in particular Ceferin, would have wanted to go all the way with exemplary penalties for Juve, Real Madrid and Barcelona. On May 12 the investigation was opened, on May 25 the disciplinary procedure that foreshadowed sanctions before the start of the European Championship. The entry into the scene of the European Court of Justice, however, has changed the cards in tables, extending not a little the time of action and decision. From here came the choice of 9 June, when the UEFA Disciplinary suspended the proceedings against the 3 clubs in question. A decision that, for Juventus, Real Madrid and Barcelona, means guaranteed cash inflows between 50 and 80 million depending on the European path next year.
