Juventus reap full points when entertaining Spezia in continued Italian League. Bianconeri won 3-0 to solidify his position in the top three of the standings.
Duel Juventus vs Spezia in the continuation of the Italian League it was held at Allianz Stadium, Wednesday (3/3/2021) in the morning WIB. Juventus faced this match after a disappointing 1-1 result against Hellas Verona last weekend.
After stalemate in the first half, Juventus hit Spezia’s goal with three goals in the second half. Alvaro Morata broke the deadlock for Juventus in the 62nd minute before Federico Chiesa doubled it in the 71st minute.
Cristiano Ronaldo then solidified Juventus’ victory through his goal in the 89th minute. Spezia got a penalty in injury time, but Andrey Galabinov’s execution was saved by Wojciech Szczesny.
With this victory, Juventus is firmly in the third place in the Italian League standings with 49 points from 24 matches. While Spezia is in 15th place with 25 points.
The course of the match
Spezia had a chance in the eighth minute following a counter attack. However, Marchizza’s shot from a narrow angle only hit the side outside of the Juventus goal.
Two minutes later, Federico Chiesa broke Spezia’s goal after beating Spezia goalkeeper Ivan Provedel in a one-on-one situation. The referee disallowed the goal for offside.
Not many opportunities were created in the first half. Spezia was able to reduce Juventus’ attacks.
The best chance for Juventus came in the 42nd minute. Ronaldo makes a stab from the left and opens a shot with the right foot. Unfortunately for Juventus, the ball hit the post.
Spezia’s back line error at the start of the second half almost gave Juventus a chance. Weston McKennie who cuts Provedel’s bad back pass tries to find Chiesa. However, the ball was anticipated by Terzi first.
Opportunity for Ronaldo to score a goal in the 58th minute. Dejan Kulusevski fired a well-made pass for Ronaldo, but the Portuguese failed to make full use of the ball.
Alvaro Morata scored a goal after using Bernardeschi’s pass. However, the referee disallowed the goal for offside.
Morata finally made a goal in the 62nd minute while breaking the deadlock for Juventus. He took advantage of the ball from Bernardeschi. Even though the goal was ruled out for offside, VAR declared the goal legitimate.
Chiesa then doubled Juventus’ lead in the 71st minute. He maximized the ball to throw up after his shot was pushed over by Provedel.
Juventus gets a free kick in the 77th minute. Ronaldo, who became the executor, directed his shot into the top corner of the goal. However, Provedel can still brush it off.
Goal! Ronaldo broke into Spezia’s goal in the 89th minute to strengthen Juventus’ advantage. Starting from a counter attack, Ronaldo, who received the ball from Bentancur, then fired horizontally to beat Provedel.
During injury time, Spezia got a penalty following Demiral’s foul on Gyasi. Penalties are awarded after the referee checks the VAR.
However, Andrey Galabinov failed to maximize the penalty he received. Wojciech Szczesny can still kick the ball away from him.
