The course of the match

Juventus immediately ahead quickly in the 5th minute. Juan Cuadrado threw a stab into the Genoa penalty box from the right, then threw a low cross to Dejan Kulusevski, who was standing in the box.

There was no meaningful escort, the Swedish midfielder slipped a hull shot that was lodged in the left corner of the Genoa goal guarded by Mattia Perin. The Bianconeri are 1-0 up.

Genoa tries to retaliate. Davide Biraschi’s long-range shot in the 15th minute still didn’t aim at the goal, while Gianluca Scamacca’s free kick fared the same.

Juventus actually added to the advantage in the 22nd minute. Federico Chiesa’s solo run was completed with a kick to the left, but Perin was pushed over. The ball vomited by Cristiano Ronaldo, but it still hit the post.

The next bouncing ball was taken by Alvaro Morata, and the Spanish striker’s shot this time managed to shake the Genoa goal. Score becomes 2-0.

Adrien Rabiot almost increased Juventus’ lead, but his long-range shot in the 36th minute was blocked by Perin. Genoa responded in the 45th minute, returned through Scamacca, but Wojciech Szczesny was saved. 2-0 score lasted until the break.

In the second half, Genoa managed to thin the distance in the 49th minute. This time Scamacca successfully listed his name on the scoreboard, after his header from Nicolò Rovella’s corner kick broke into the Juventus goal.

The goal added to the spirit of Genoa. They are increasingly looking for a second goal. There was a chance from Marko Pjaca in the 55th minute, but his long-range shot was cleared by Szczesny. A minute later, Pjaca’s kick still soared.

Scamacca also had another chance in the 59th minute, but this time his header failed to produce a goal. Bad luck for Genoa, Juventus it was the one who managed to add to the goal.

In the 70th minute, Weston McKennie, who received a through pass from Danilo, escaped the offside trap and ran with the ball alone. The Genoa rearguard wasn’t ready to catch up, but McKennie calmly finished with a shot into the right corner of the net, beating Perin.
