After a saving goal by Cristiano Ronaldo, record champion Juventus has secured the Italian championship for the ninth time in a row. The team around the five-time world footballer made the 36th Scudetto in the club’s history perfect with a 2-0 win on Sunday evening in the home game against Sampdoria Genoa. Ronaldo scored 1-0 before half time.
With 83 points, two games before the end of Serie A season, Turin can no longer be pushed out of first place. Inter Milan ranks seven points behind.
Juventus was harmless in the first half despite visual superiority, then Ronaldo hit after a free kick variant with the last action. A pass from Miralem Pjanic used the 35-year-old from the penalty area directly with a low shot (45. + 7).
