Juventus have instructed their lawyers to terminate the contract of former PSV talent Mohamed Ihattaren. The Dutch striker joined the Bianconeri from the Eredivisie side in August 2021 for around €1.9million and was immediately loaned out to Sampdoria, where problems soon arose. He failed to make a single appearance for the club and soon returned to the Netherlands, forcing Juventus into a new loan deal with Ajax.
Ihattaren made just five appearances for Ajax before returning to Turin at the end of December. Since his return, he has often been seen both at the J-Hotel and on the club’s training ground, trying to get fit. The 21-year-old has been embroiled in various legal issues in recent years, disrupting his playing career. As Goal Italia’s Romeo Agresti reported, Juventus lawyers are working to terminate Ihattaren’s contract, wanting to protect the club’s image. The Bianconeri have tried to back the 21-year-old Dutchman, despite his various problems off the pitch, but believe he has now reached a professional tipping point.
