Juventus Secures Hard-Fought Victory over Verona, Thanks to Andrea Cambiaso

Verona rarely won laurels as a guest of Juventus. The home team could expect an easy match, but VAR and the visitors made it difficult for the Turin team.

Although Dusan Vlahovics took the lead in the 13th minute, the referee invalidated the goal due to offside with the help of VAR. A few minutes later, Moise Kean had a chance, but the Italian striker missed the goal. After that, the video referee played a leading role again, because the ball bounced on Timothy Weah’s arm, but the referee did not award a penalty.

Although Kean’s header found its way into Verona’s net in the second half, the Juventus players could not be happy for long, as the referee – of course again with the help of the video referee – invalidated the home team’s goal due to an earlier foul. In the remaining time, Federico Chiesa threatened twice, but did not hit the goal.
