Argentine international winger Angel Di Maria confirmed that he is in negotiations with Juventus about renewing his contract after scoring a header goal that led his team to a 1-0 victory over its German guest Freiburg the day before yesterday in the first leg of the 16th round of the European League.
Doubts surround Di Maria’s future with Juventus, but the player confirmed that negotiations are currently underway with the Italian giant regarding contract renewal.
“I am very happy to help the team,” Di Maria told Sky Sports. “We are doing a good job and we should continue in the same vein. The important thing was winning, and we did that.”
“We will do our best (to reach the final of this competition), we will try to win the Italian Cup and the European League,” he added.
He continued, “We are talking, I feel happy here, and finally I feel the love of people after a difficult start.”
Juventus coach Massimiliano Allegri also praised Di Maria and said of him: “Tonight (Di Maria) scored a great goal, but before that he performed exceptionally well.”
