Juventus Pursuing Kalvin Phillips in Winter Transfer Window

Juventus aims to sign Kalvin Phillips in the winter Mercato

League Plus – Italian club Juventus has expressed interest in the possibility of signing Manchester City midfielder Kalvin Phillips next January.

The Bianconeri are keen to sign a midfielder in the January transfer window, with Paul Pogba and Nicolo Fagioli both suspended for the off-season and Pogba is expected to be banned for at least two years due to his involvement in a doping case.

Sky Italia reports that Cristiano Guintoli is already working to confirm Juve’s signing of the midfielder in the winter transfer window and some Premier League options are being explored.

Two names are Tottenham’s Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Arsenal’s Thomas Partey, but Phillips is now the subject of interest too.

Having fallen out of favor under Pep Guardiola since joining, Phillips is far from being a starter and this appears to be an attractive situation for Juve.

It remains to be seen whether Guardiola would like to see Phillips leave midway through the season, with Juventus looking for an initial loan with an option to buy.

Partey is also of interest, but his injury record is worrying, and when it comes to Dane Hojbjerg, Spurs’ asking price has long been expected to be an issue.
