Juventus CEO Maurizio Scanavino has provided an update on the future of French footballer Paul Pogba.
Indeed, he all but confirmed that Pogba would be leaving the club and that they had started conversations to that effect.
The 31-year-old was recently granted a significant reprieve after the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) reduced to 18 months his 4-year ban, which was imposed on him after high levels of testosterone were found in his blood.
This would mean he would be allowed back on the pitch by March 2025, but he would not wear a Juventus shirt when he returns, as he is set to lose his job with the Old Lady.
Scanavino’s comments on the future of Paul Pogba
Following the announcement of Pogba’s early return, reports have surfaced claiming that the Old Lady is considering ending her relationship with the French World Cup winner.
Juventus head coach Thiago Motta refused to dispel the rumors as he responded to reporters saying it was a situation the club had to deal with.
The club’s top brass, Scanavino, have now confirmed they have started discussions with their agents, with Fabrizio Romano reporting that the negotiations were aimed at finding an amicable settlement for the midfielder’s departure.
“I can confirm that we are in talks with Paul Pogba and his camp to find a solution”, he confided.
Meanwhile, Marseille are reportedly interested in signing the former Le Havre academy player.
They are reportedly hoping to acquire his services during the winter transfer window, although he would not be available until at least March.
