Juventus Picks Up Victory Against Empoli in Serie A

Juventus back to winning ways. Go to headquarters Empoli, Bianconeri pocketed three points after picking up the victory with a final score of 2-0.

Serie A match between Empoli vs Juventus held at the Carlo Castellani Stadium, Monday (4/9/2023) in the morning WIB. Juve’s victory was determined by goals from Danilo and Federico Chiesa in each half.

With this result, the Old Lady continued their unbeaten trend since the start of the season. In the previous match, Juve were held by Bologna 1-1.

Juventus are now in third place in the Italian League standings after collecting seven points. Juve are two points adrift of Inter Milan and AC Milan, who both gain nine points.

Meanwhile, Empoli are buried at the bottom of the standings. The team nicknamed Gli Azzurri has yet to get a score, alias zero.

Course of the Match

Juventus’ goal against Empoli in the 10th minute was disallowed by the referee. Danilo was considered to have violated goalkeeper Etrit Berisha first when he received a corner kick.

Juventus again threatened Empoli after a corner was saved by Berisha. Fabio Miretti greeted a wild ball with a volley into the penalty box which Dusan Vlahovic headed. The ball is still wide.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 25th minute. Juventus finally opened the scoring to beat Empoli 1-0.

Starting from a corner kick on the right wing, the ball fell in the middle of the penalty box, creating chaos. Danilo finished with a low shot that went between the legs of the opponent before nestling in Berisha’s goal.

Juventus were awarded a penalty after Federico Gatti was hit by Youssef Maleh. Unfortunately, Juventus’ advantage failed to increase after Vlahovic’s penalty was parried by Berisha. Vlahovic tried to grab the ball but failed because the keeper rushed to secure it.

After the restart, Juventus created a good opportunity in the 59th minute. Federico Chiesa got past the defenders before firing a curling shot towards the far post. The ball widens thin.

After that, Juventus’ goal against Empoli was again disallowed. Paul Pogba’s volley penetrated the home team’s goal, but was canceled because Vlahovic, who gave the first pass, was in an offside position.
