Juventus confirmed, last Wednesday, November 1st, regarding the release of the Report and Accounts for the 2022/23 season, the existence of a legal battle with Cristiano Ronaldo, a player who was part of its staff between 2018 and 2021.
The ex-Sporting player is demanding the payment of around 19.5 million euros in wages, which he allegedly agreed to suspend, due to the financial difficulties at the historic Italian club caused by the Covid-19 pandemic.
However, according to Vecchia Signora, the first appeal presented by him was rejected by the Italian Court, on June 19, 2023, due to the alleged nullity of the agreement signed between both parties in the 2020/21 season.
As for the second appeal, a hearing is scheduled for November 21st, and the deadline set for the arbitration decision is April 22nd, 2024. Still, the Bianconeri insist that they owe nothing to the now forward who now plays for Al Nassr – know more HERE.
“With the decision dated October 30, 2023, the arbitrary panel declared the lack of power to judge the merits of the aforementioned dispute. As a result of the investigations carried out, and also with the support of advisors, the club considers the allegations to be unfounded, and therefore did not consider it necessary to set aside any risk provision.” (know more HERE).
