Juventus, budget approved: 199 million red. Scanavino: “Improving trend”

TORINO – The shareholders’ meeting of Juventus ha approved the budget for the 2023/24 financial yearclosed with a red by 199 millionup from 123.7 million the previous year. For the company, however, this is an anomalous liability, due to the failure to participate in the European cups, which had an impact of around 130 million in UEFA prizes, box office receipts and various bonuses. “Without these factors,” explained the CEO Maurizio Scanavino“the result would have been negative for around 70 million, confirming the substantial improving trend in the economic result”. For the first time he also participated in the assembly, as a manager Giorgio Chiellini.

Objective of balancing the budget in 2026

The president Gianluca Ferrero he specified that, after the latest capital increase of 200 million, “no further capital strengthening interventions are expected in the next three years”. Juventus plans to bring the accounts back into balance within a couple of seasons and already in 2025 the improvement should be noticeable thanks to thethe revenues from the new Champions League and the Club World Cupas well as in the progressive decline in costs, in particular in the wage bill, which has already fallen, in the 2023/24 year, from 255.4 to 239 million.

Turnover under 400 million

Currently the Juventus’ turnover is under 400 million (394.6), but the club hopes to soon return above 500: in 22/23 it was at 507.7, while in 19/20, before the contraction in revenue also due to the pandemic, it had reached 573.4 million . The industrial plan envisages that the accounts will remain in balance if the company continues to participate in the Champions League, passing the first single group phase each time.

Scanavino: “We will have the sponsor by the end of the season”

The small shareholders complained to the company above all about the lack of media exposure in defense of the club and the lack of main sponsoron which Scanavino expressed himself: “We are in negotiations with various companies with international interest and visibility, we hope to sign an important agreement by the end of this sporting season”. The project to build a small 5,000 seat facility near the Stadium to host the Women and Next Gen competitions has been postponed for now: “We are carrying out studies, but the project will not be implemented in the short term. Recovery comes first.” The aim is also to make the most of the 180 million followers on social media: “We are the first Italian brand”, underlined Ferrero, “more than Ferrari, Lamborghini, Dolce&Gabbana and Prada”.

Juve still in the Super League: “They never responded to us”

Finally, the president confirmed that the Juventus is still formally part of the Super Leaguedespite having reiterated the desire to leave, already formalized and made official for over a year: “To date we have never received a response to our request for withdrawal”. The club also devalued the credit it still had from the company that manages the Super League, as if it had put a stone on that money.
