There is that «Aaaaahhh» in Harry Meet Sally style in which Aurelio De Laurentiis appeared in the Meg Ryan version commenting on his Napoli’s two seasonal victories against Juventus. And instead there is a «ah» a little less orgasmic, if anything dry and annoyed, with which Juventus (but certainly also Milan, Inter) have welcomed certain other Aurelian utterances. Like those, sibylline (or accusatory) linked to the recent non-victories of Napoli: «Sometimes we finished second, but we could have finished first if… I feel I have won other championships, certainly the honesty one». Open up heaven… We lacked the championship of honesty. On the shield of the good game, team spirit, planning, passion, etc. no one would have anything else to say (except a heartfelt bravo) and do (except a thunderous applause).
De Laurentiis’ words and reactions
But, it goes without saying, the “scudetto of honesty” ends up creating very different reactions. Lapo Elkann’s is rather immediate: «Let him talk, it’s his third year with the Scudetto, while for us it’s 38». And if the Juventus entrepreneur places the emphasis on a purely sporting area, there are loads of fans who instead shift the shot on issues related to honesty, justice. In fact, it is true that Juventus and some of its managers (former or current) are going through their fine setbacks in sports courts (as well as ordinary ones): there is the capital gains trial in which Agnelli, Arrivabene, Paratici and Cherubini, while the club awaits the motivations of the Guarantee Committee regarding the annulment with postponement of the 15-point penalty (the Federal Court of Appeal will then have to express itself again); and there is the proceeding on the salary maneuver, relations with agents, partnerships with other clubs in which Juventus is awaiting referral. But beware: Napoli had also been referred for administrative offenses together with Juventus and 9 other teams, on April 1, 2022.
