Roma. Juventus have drawn for the third time in a row, their second at home, on Saturday in the fifth round of the Italian Serie A against Napoli.
Four days after their Champions League display against PSV Eindhoven (3-1), Juve can be satisfied with this draw at the end of a high-intensity match.
It was Napoli, now coached by former Juventus player and manager Antonio Conte, who created the best chances, through Romelu Lukaku (45+1) whose point-blank shot was deflected in the extremes by Michele Di Gregorio, and a shot by Matteo Politano, just over the Turin crossbar (55).
In the Serie A standings, provisionally dominated by the surprising Torino (11 points), who won 3-2 in Verona on Friday, Napoli is third with 10 points, one more than the Juve (4º).
Earlier on Saturday, newly promoted Venezia claimed their first win of the season against Genoa (2-0) and moved up to 14th place with 4 points.
But the star match of this fifth round will take place on Sunday (18:45 GMT): Inter, reigning champion and 6th (8 points), host their great rival, AC Milan (10th, 5 points), whose coach Paulo Fonseca is already under pressure after his team’s poor start to the season, humiliated at home by Liverpool on Tuesday (3-1) in Champions.
