Turin –
Juventus make a statement after UEFA imposed a ban on playing in European competitions for the 2023/2024 season. The Bianconeri will not appeal.
UEFA sanctioned Juventus for violations of Financial Fair Play. The Italian League giant was banned from playing in European competitions for the 2023/2024 season and was fined 20 million Euros or IDR 332.3 billion.
Juventus immediately responded to the penalty. The Old Mistress accepted it and would not appeal.
“We regret the decision of the UEFA Club Financial Control Body. We will not share the interpretations that have been given about our defence, and we remain confident in the legitimacy of our actions and the validity of our arguments,” said the President JuventusGianluca Ferrero.
“However, we have decided not to appeal this decision. This decision is in line with the one taken last May in the context of the dispute with the FIGC. We have therefore chosen to end the period of uncertainty and ensure full visibility and certainty to our internal and external stakeholders. regarding the club’s participation in international competitions in the future.”
“Appeal, perhaps to another level of judgment, with an uncertain outcome and timing, will increase the uncertainty in relation to our participation in the 2024/25 UEFA Champions League.”
“On the contrary, we want the first team, fans, sponsors, suppliers and our financial partners to be able to experience the 2023/24 season with complete serenity and certainty, with respect to the results that can be achieved on the pitch, especially after a turbulent last season,” he said in a statement.
Juventus have been found guilty by UEFA of alleged breaches of Financial Fair Play. The Italian league giants were accused of falsifying transfer fees and their financial statements regarding capital gains.
This happened during the pandemic, when Juventus players experienced a salary reduction for four months. Apparently, the Old Lady had only reduced her stars’ salary by one month. The other three months are not reported in the report, thus avoiding taxes.
From there, UEFA start sniffing out the ‘game’ Juventus. Until finally, punishment was given to Massimilano Allegri’s team, which banned him from competing in European competition. The European competition that Juventus should take part in next season is the Europa Conference League, which he must now skip after being penalized.
