Juvenile institution supervisor on non-active basis after strange statement about abuse

A health institution in Ommen has filed a complaint against an employee due to a possible assault. The woman worked with young children with developmental delays or intellectual disabilities. She too has since been put on hold.

According to a spokesman for the institution, the Baalderborg Group, the woman confessed to abandoning several children and then failing to provide adequate care. She came later RTV Ext of that statement and said it was a child.

The woman worked on Saturday in a day center in Ommen with a group of four or five children, in the presence of two supervisors. “But in one fraction of a second someone can be lonely and something can happen,” the spokesperson says.

According to the regional broadcaster, at least one parent reported the incident after the confession. The police and the health institute are investigating the woman’s behavior.
