TURIN (ITALPRESS) – Massimiliano Allegri’s Juventus will face Frosinone in the quarter-finals of the Italian Cup scheduled for Thursday 11 January. The Bianconeri defeated Salernitana with extreme ease 6-1 in the round of 16 staged at the Allianz Stadium in Turin. Yet the evening for Danilo and his teammates had not started in the best way given that less than 60 seconds after the kick-off it was the visiting team led by the former Pippo Inzaghi who took the lead with a diagonal shot from Ikwuemesi after a missed clearance by Gatti who had asked the referee for an opponent’s foul in vain. Juventus immediately increased the pressure and in the 12th minute they found the equalizer with Miretti: a possessed Chiesa went away on the left crossing towards the far post where Cambiaso was intelligent to act as a tower for the onrushing Miretti who with the left foot beat Fiorillo. Five minutes later referee Ghersini whistled a penalty in favor of Juventus for a foul by Sambia on Gatti but the intervention of the VAR established that the contact had occurred outside the area. Ten minutes before the break, Juventus made the overtaking move: this time it was Danilo who took over Chiesa’s corner and Cambiaso arrived to finalize the action and put the ball onto the far post with his left foot. The action for the third Juventus goal started again from Chiesa’s feet: cross from the left for Milik’s sure-footed header, Fiorillo’s foot kick and Rugani’s tap-in a few steps away. A quarter of an hour from the end the Juventus poker came with an own goal at the end of a great team action in which Milik freed Yildiz at the conclusion whose rebound from Fiorillo bounced off Bronn’s feet and then ended up in the net. The fifth goal arrived with a masterpiece again by Yildiz who, two minutes from the end, slipped between Salernitana’s shirts from the left, skipped past four opponents and pierced Fiorillo who, in full injury time, in the 46th minute, he also had to collect the final 6-1 put in by Weah at the back of his net with a great shot from the attacking midfield.
