Juve and Napoli at risk of being referred for administrative offense

The two big clubs, among the 11 clubs that received the notice from the FIGC of the closure of the investigations, should risk a simple fine

Eleven Serie A clubs risk being referred for the suspicious capital gains affair, including Juventus and Napoli, who will have 15 days to prepare the defensive briefs and decide whether to be heard. At this point the decision will be taken which consists either in a sports indictment before the Federal Court or archiving. For the two big names in Italian football, the simple administrative offense punishable with a fine was hypothesized (except for more serious sanctions in terms of UEFA licenses). But the notice of the investigations also concerns the alleged violation of Article 4 of the Code of Sports Justice: in that case, one or more points in the standings can also be penalized.

In addition to Naples and Juventus, the notice from the FIGC also reached Empoli, Sampdoria, Genoa, Pisa, Parma, Pro Vercelli, Pescara and also Novara and Chievo, two clubs that are no longer affiliated. The finished business under the lens of the Prosecutor’s Office concerns three sporting seasons: 2018-2019, 2019-2020 and 2020-2021.

62 transactions have ended up in the sights of Covisoc and Consob and of these transactions, 42 are from Juventus. As for Napoli, however, the Osimhen operation ended under the eye of the storm. In fact, in the maxi operation that brought the Nigerian from Lille to Naples, there were four Azzurri players: the third goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis and three Primavera players (Claudio Manzi, Luigi Liguori and Ciro Palmieri). The overall evaluation of the four players was just over 20 million euros: a cost considered excessive for players who boasted few appearances among professionals, if not some in Serie C.
