American pop star Justin Timberlake was sentenced to community service for being caught driving while intoxicated last June.
The singer and actor was arrested one night in June while driving a BMW in the New York suburb of the Hamptons but failed to maintain the vehicle’s “correct” lane, police said. His eyes “were red and his breath smelled of alcohol,” according to the police report.

Timberlake had originally pleaded not guilty, which would have led to a trial, but today decided to plead guilty to the misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence of alcohol.
According to the ABC television network, the judge imposed a fine and 25 hours of community service. He is also required to make a public statement about road safety.
The “Prince of Pop”, a former member of the band NSYNC in the late 90s, pursued a solo career and became an international star. He has won ten Grammy Awards and four Emmy Awards, the corresponding “Oscars” for music and television.
