Justin Timberlake brought a sold-out concert, a spectacular stage show, pure mega hits and a sweaty evening in the truest sense of the word to Hamburg. Radio Hamburg presenter Tim Gafron was there and reports what it was like.
Justin Timberlake rocked the sold-out Barclays Arena on Wednesday (September 5). His concert had been sold out for months and his two-hour stage show exceeded the audience’s expectations. Radio Hamburg presenter Tim Gafron has never missed a single Justin Timberlake concert here in Germany and once again danced along to all of the mega hits.
Spectacular stage show with multiple screens
The stage setup with two stages and several screens gave a foretaste of the spectacular show even before the concert. At 8 p.m. a DJ warmed up the audience with an 80s and 90s set until Justin Timberlake took the stage promptly at 9 p.m. And for Tim, the tickets inside were particularly worthwhile because the crowd was well distributed and there was plenty of dancing. And not just him, but the whole Barclays Arena sang along, danced and celebrated. No wonder you start to sweat. It was supposedly so hot in the arena that you could only leave the concert drenched in sweat. But that didn’t spoil the mood. On the contrary: Justin Timberlake literally got the audience on fire.
Concerts in Germany are always something special
If there’s one thing Justin Timberlake proves time and again, it’s that he’s a gifted dancer and entertainer. Combined with the stage show, it was a real experience. The live band was supported by a few brass players and the background dancers also showed off their skills. Tim noticed them particularly positively during “My Love”. And during the encore, Justin Timberlake finally had everyone in the audience under his spell. For “Mirrors” he stood on a cube made of screens that was tilted and hovering above the audience. In addition to an acoustic set, there were also occasional interactions with the audience. Even if he doesn’t interact with his audience as much as other megastars, he did emphasize one thing in particular: Germany is always a special place for him. This is where NSYNC’s career began in the 90s.
Passion and fun from the stage to the audience
The passion and fun spread from the stage to the audience and at the end of the two hours Justin Timberlake had played all of his mega hits and captivated the audience. A great evening and with the concert the storm over Hamburg was over so that everyone got home relatively dry. Even though Tim has seen him live countless times, he would go again and again. Despite the high ticket prices, Justin Timberlake live is and remains an absolute recommendation. His tour ends on December 20th in Kansas City. We are excited to see when he will next make his audience sweat in Germany.
