One of Justin Timberlake’s regular backup singers, Nicole Hurst, has died aged just 39. The singer writes in a post on Instagram that he is devastated by the news.
“Nicole was a constant source of joy and positivity, on stage and off,” Timberlake writes of Hurst. “Some things feel so unfair and we will never understand why they had to happen. But what I do know is that we can count ourselves lucky to have laughed, traveled, experienced her infectious laughter and her love for a life full of music.”
The singer places a series of photos and videos of the two with the message. “Nicole, it’s not enough to say I’m going to miss you so much. Thank you for the light you shone. I’ll do my best to keep that with me at all times. I love you.”
Nicole was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2013. Two years later, she announced she was on the mend, but in 2019 she shared the news on social media that the cancer had returned and had spread to her brain.
