His new contract includes a salary of $98 million, of which $75.5 million is guaranteed, and has a term of four years.
“This is a great way to start the new season,” raves Ravens boss Eric DeCosta in the team’s press release, adding, “Justin is one of the best defensive tackles in the entire league and an important pillar in our defense.”
Ravens star sets NFL record
Madubuike was drafted by the Ravens in the third round in 2020. He was only able to develop his full potential this season. With 13 sacks, he was his team’s best quarterback hunter and ninth best in the league.

He also set a league record: he had at least half a sack in eleven consecutive games. Only Chris Jones (Kansas City Chiefs), Trey Hendrickson (Cincinnati Bengals) and the now retired Jared Allen (Minnesota Vikings) and Shaun Ellis (New York Jets) have previously achieved this.
With his contract, however, he has set a new record. Never before has a defensive tackle received such a high guaranteed amount.
