The 2023 vintage of the National School of Magistracy, made up of Magistrates and Registrars, now has the attributes to help the actors concerned in the exercise of their functions. It is in this context that a toga award ceremony was held in the meeting room of the ministerial department, on Sunday October 1, 2023, in accordance with the instructions and guidelines given to the heads of the directorates under supervision by the Minister of Defense. Justice, Keeper of the Seals, Paul-Marie Gondjout.

This official toga ceremony was held following the suspension of the strike by the National Union of Magistrates of Gabon, for a period of 3 months. At the end of the extraordinary general assembly held on September 29, 2023, at the Libreville courthouse and during which the main points of demands were presented, Synamag deemed it useful to suspend its strike movement, which began in December 2022 .

Among the points of demand, we cite, among others, the career-related status of Magistrates (adopted in Parliament and expected by the President of the transition for visa), the regularization of administrative situations (in progress), the provision of transport vehicles. functions which are delivered for the majority and the audience gowns recently delivered to the 2021-2023 promotion.

This is therefore a significant step forward for the parties, namely the Government and the social partners, united around the President of the Transition, Head of State, Brigadier General Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma, who recalled to the Magistrates, on the occasion of the meeting on September 26, 2023 at the Palais Rénovation, the importance of honoring and faithfully serving the homeland.

Beyond this ceremony of handing over the togese, the message from the highest authorities of the Republic filtered through: “Restore the dignity of the Gabonese people by rendering justice in their name”.

A reminder which was made to the latter, before receiving the said attributes that the president of the transition and the Government rely enormously on the judicial power to restore the dignity of the Gabonese people. A dignity about to be recovered through “operation dignity” which made it possible to recover 7.2 billion CFA francs and 344 vehicles during searches of the collaborators of the deposed president, Ali Bongo Ondimba.

Note that in the days to come, the official swearing-in ceremonies of the new Magistrates and Registrars will take place before the respective orders and the courts of the places of assignment.
