Justice. Luxury cars, prestigious wines, Rolex and diamonds … Discover the objects of criminals up for auction

These are a little special auctions that the prestigious Drouot house will conduct on Friday at the Ministry of the Economy, Finance and Recovery in Paris.

To celebrate the 10th anniversary of the little-known Agrasc (Agency for the Management and Recovery of Seized and Confiscated Assets), the Ministries of Justice and Public Accounts are organizing a large auction sale of goods that have been acquired illegally, for example through the drug trafficking or scams.

More than 300 lots are offered, including prestige cars, jewelry, gold coins, branded leather goods, but also electric bicycles, video game consoles and even a Thermomix household robot. Eric Dupond-Moretti, the Keeper of the Seals who was able to see these lots on Thursday morning, was also pleased to see objects from “everyday delinquency”.

By opening a conference dedicated to criminal assets, the Minister of Justice has shown his desire to develop the seizure and confiscation of “ill-gotten gains” from petty and medium delinquency, so as not to reserve it for large traffickers: “We are going to type criminals in the portfolio, “he hammered.

Welcoming the work of Agrasc for a decade (which has brought in more than 1.5 billion euros to the state budget), Eric Dupond-Moretti indicated that two new regional branches would open next spring, in Rennes and Lille. Those of Marseille and Lyon “have already brought in 28 million euros, or as much as the entire Agency at national level in 2015”, underlined the Minister.

In addition, Eric Dupond-Moretti announced the signing today of the decree allowing the redistribution of ill-gotten goods to associations of public utility.
