The CEO of the Casino distribution group Jean-Charles Naouri, targeted by an investigation for domestic violence after the filing of a complaint by his wife, was heard by the investigators on June 21 in free hearing, announced Tuesday a source close to the investigation.
The investigation for domestic violence had been opened by the Nanterre prosecutor’s office and entrusted to the Brigade for the repression of delinquency against the person (BRDP), following the filing of a complaint in February by his wife for acts of psychological violence.
“This complaint filed in response to the divorce proceedings initiated by Jean-Charles Naouri is as confusing as it is fanciful. The numerous material elements produced by the latter demonstrate the inanity of these resolutely heartbreaking allegations, ”said his lawyer, Me Marie-Alix Canu-Bernard.
Confrontation
The couple, married since 2007, have been in the process of divorce since December and have been living apart for three years. A confrontation between Naouri and his wife also took place, as well as a psychological expertise of the complainant, said a source familiar with the matter.
Jean-Charles Naouri has been the CEO of the Casino group since March 2005. Énarque, inspector of Finance, he was chief of staff to Pierre Bérégovoy, at the Ministry of Social Affairs and then at the Economy and Budget, from 1982 to 1986.
At 73, he was unsurprisingly reappointed for three years to the board of directors of Casino, of which he is the controlling shareholder, during the general meeting of the food distribution group last May.
