Just Use Common Sense, Why Should We Support Vietnam?

JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com – Former Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Susi Pudjiastuti returned to flicking the export policy seed lobster issued by KP Minister Edhy Prabowo.

Susi claimed to be amused if one of the reasons he was allowed to export lobster seeds was because of many fisherman who pocket their lives being seed seekers. In fact, marine resources are not just lobster seeds.

Susi said that the lobster seed export policy was strange, because only Indonesia allowed lobster seed exports. Some countries such as Australia, the Philippines, Cuba, and Sri Lanka do not take lobster seeds for export.

Even Australia has banned lobster catching with female sex so that its sustainability is maintained. That’s why he thinks it’s funny if the reason is because fishermen don’t have other work.

“If you cannot catch the seeds, (the fishermen) cannot catch the others? Oh, you can. There are thousands of species of fish in the sea. Catch (lobster) which is 200 grams in size, or at least 100 grams,” said Susi.

Susi was worried that if lobster seeds were taken, small fishermen would no longer get money from catching lobsters the size of consumption.

Just so you know, catching lobster is often done by small fishermen because of its easy catch. No need to use a large ship, lobsters can be caught only with stock jermal or tires in the car. The price of lobster consumption size usually reaches hundreds of thousands depending on the type and size.

“We just use common sense. Why do we have to support Vietnam? It’s funny to me. I believe the state must protect natural resources for the benefit of society. Indonesia will become a big country if the sea can be managed well,” concluded Susi.
