just over 10% of users no longer use public transport

The urban mobility application has once again analyzed the behavior of users in nine French cities, including Lyon.

Among the figures to remember from this 2020 Global Report on Public Transport Moovit, we will remember the fact that 10% of users have abandoned public transport in Lyon because of the Covid-19.

While 37.8% of those questioned claim to use public transport less frequently than before, 43.1% say they have not changed their habits, while 2.5% have switched to other means of transport such as cycling or again the scooter.

The Covid-19 pandemic is also causing new expectations for users in Lyon: 34.7% would like to know in advance if vehicles are crowded, 48.6% would like to increase the frequency so that vehicles are less crowded and 36 , 9% would take more public transport if there were dispensers of hydroalcoholic gel on board vehicles, at stops and stations.

Regarding the habits of Lyonnais in metros, trams or buses, the average journey time is 38 minutes in 2020 (i.e. one minute more than in 2019) and the average distance is 4.54 kilometers (against 5.2 km in 2019).
