JUST NOW: Trains forced to stop – thin on track

At 21.12 on Sunday evening, SOS Alarm was alerted about a train that had run into something at Rönneshytta. Initially, the emergency services were called to the scene because they did not know what had been hit.

Later, the police were also called.

– When the emergency services arrived, they realized that it was a barrel of some kind. It had gotten stuck in some way so that the train could not move on, says Ola Olsson, officer on duty at the police in the Bergslagen region.

– We have been there to investigate what happened, he continues.

Details of oil drums

According to information from the scene, it was an oil drum that was lying on the track. The barrel must have been broken.

At 00:30 the police have not written any criminal classification, but that is to be expected.

– It is not a barrel that ended up on the trail by itself, says Ola Olsson.

All passengers on the train have had to get off and travel on with a replacement bus.
