Veteran Indian batsman-keeper Dinesh Karthik believes KL Rahul’s poor form will create problems for India in the February-March Test series against Australia. If Ravindra Jadeja is fit, Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel should compete for the third spinner spot, he added.
Rahul led India in the two-match Test series in Bangladesh. Though the visitors won by a 2-0 margin, Rahul had a forgettable run with the bat. The 30-year-old recorded scores of 22, 23, 10 and two. Previously, the star also let down the ODI series.
India’s next test assignment is the four-match series against Australia. The hosts need a win to secure a place in the World Test Championship (WTC) final. Sharing his thoughts on the massive Test series, Karthik told Cricbuzz:
“There are two big questions when we play against Australia. Should KL Rahul play as opener? Kuldeep Yadav and Axar Patel who will you pick as third spinner? These are tough questions to answer, but they need to be answered.
