Jussey’s Manon Kury Crowned French Beach Wrestling Champion

After her title of champion of France seniors, in traditional wrestling, on May 14, Manon Kury continues to shine Jussey on the national territory.

This weekend of June 3 and 4, in Toulon, on the beaches of Mourillon, took place the French championship of Beach wrestling (wrestling on sand) U15, U17 and seniors. Two Jusséenne “lionesses” made the trip: Manon and Clara Grandjean in U17.

Manon faced, in the first round, Mathilde Gaumet (from Lyon Saint Priest), then Fefa Lloret (from Seine-Sur-Mer), before facing Matilde Guedon (from Genlis). She knocked down all her opponents to win the title of champion of France seniors. A real pride for the Jussey Lions Club! The champion will leave for Singapore for the Beach world series seniors next week.

Clara, who was taking part in sand wrestling for the first time, faced Firdaws Chali (from Bagnolet) in the first round and lost. In the next round, she fought against Cloé Adam (from Sète) for a victory (2-1), but the score was not enough to win the gold. She nevertheless obtained the bronze medal in U17, less than 60 kg.
