In the cycle “Wonderland”, the actors of Jurmala Theater offer their spectators to listen to the tales of the nations of the world.
Twice a month, on Sundays, until next spring, audiovisual readings of world folk tales performed by Jūrmala Theater actors will be published on the Facebook page of the Jūrmala Theater.
“Wonderland” is a world in which kindness, honesty, wit, ingenuity and condemnation of evil, greed and stupidity are still welcomed. It is a world of longing, hope and common sense that can only be believed, ” in the environment, says the artistic director of Jurmala Theater Imants Jaunzems.
In the first reading of the cycle “Wonderland”, Jūrmala Theater actress Līva Vēlņa-Pētersone told the audience of the African folk tale “Fraudster and Carrier”, the reading is still available on Jūrmala Theater’s Facebook page. On November 15, the Guinean folk tale “Why chickens look at the sky while drinking” will be published.
Jūrmala Theater first offered fairy tale readings on the website in May of this year, when families with children could watch and listen to Māra Cielēna’s fairy tales staged at the Jūrmala Theater puppet studio.
