After having had an interesting streak of three wins in four games recently, the Montreal Canadiens were brought back to earth Saturday night at the Bell Center against the Golden Knights.
Not only were Martin St-Louis’ men outclassed by the visitors on the table by a score of 6-2, but they also generated several costly turnovers during the meeting.
During the third period, the Canadiens head coach decided to send a message to two of his players, namely Kirby Dach and Juraj Slafkovky, who were used on a fourth line.
It must be said that the two are not having a very good start to the season in terms of goals while they have only managed one each since the start of the 2024-2025 campaign.
After the game, Slafkvosky made no secret of the fact that he had a difficult game and that he fully deserved to be on the fourth line alongside Dach and Lucas Condota.
Comments reported by Stu Cowan via his X account.
Even if the Canadian’s first choice has obtained his share of assists since the start of the season, the fact remains that his goal production, like that of Kirby Dach, must seriously begin to worry management of the Canadian.
So far, Juraj Slafkovsky has collected 11 points in 17 games, but if we compare to last year, he is quite ahead because after the same number of matches played in 2023-2024, he had only obtained one goal and a single pass for a total of two points.
However, he literally exploded in the second half of the season to finish with 20 goals and 30 assists. Canadian supporters therefore hope that Juraj Slafkovsky experiences Groundhog Day in 2024-2025.
