LIVE Techno – Orbital shift Jupiter make surface Land friendlier with life than ever, according to new research.
Scientists at the University of California-Riverside (UCR) simulating an alternate arrangement of the Solar System have found that when orbit around Jupiter flatter or eccentric, it will cause a big shift in the Earth’s orbit.
Jupiter is the most massive planet in the solar system so far, so if its orbit changes it could affect Earth’s ability to support life for the better.
“If Jupiter’s position remained the same, but the shape of its orbit changed, it could actually increase the planet’s habitability,” said Pam Vervoort, study leader and planetary scientist at UCR and Earth.
Many believe that Earth is the epitome of a habitable planet and that any changes to Jupiter’s orbit as a massive planet will only have a negative impact on Earth.
