LEBAK PORTAL – Even though the shape is round like the planets in the solar system, the moon is not a planet. They orbit around a planet.

In the world of astronomy, the moon is categorized as a natural satellite that accompanies a planet during rotation or revolution around the sun or stars.

But did you know that in our Solar System there are planets that have more than one number of natural satellites or moons, in fact the number is the highest among the planets in the solar system.

Before being taken over by the planet Saturn, Jupiter was the planet with the most natural satellites in our solar system.







In 2018, the United States Space Agency (NASA) noted that the planet Jupiter has 79 natural satellites.

In 2019 Saturn became the planet with the most number of moons after astronomers managed to record that there were 82 moons rotating around it. In fact, this number will increase to 83 in 2021.
