For 30 years, the monthly Science et Vie Junior has offered its young readers the opportunity to submit a invention of their own, which must be original, useful and responsible. Each month, a jury – composed of a journalist from the editorial staff and a engineer of the INPI – selects the most successful invention and puts it in the spotlight in its pages. Each spring, three young inventors, among the twelve winners of the year, are rewarded and receive the “Innovate” prize. Health context requires, the ceremony was held remotely on Thursday, June 10. It was led by Jérôme Blanchart, editor-in-chief of Science et Vie Junior, from the Musée des Arts et Métiers. Each participant presented their invention on video. At the end of the videoconference, the names of the winners were announced.
This year, it is the young inventor Arthur Hardouin, 14, who takes first place on the podium with his “Salimite”. He has developed a device that resembles a salt shaker and provides the maximum recommended dose of salt, no more and no less.
Yann Kerhervé, the second winner of the competition, has developed a mobile application dedicated to gardening. Thanks to “Arros’ Heure”, this young enthusiast can control the watering of his vegetable garden wherever he is in the world, which saves him water and, above all, time. Finally, third place on the podium goes to Paul Michel with “Beelinked”, a connected beehive. This system monitors the humidity and temperature within the hive and alerts the owner by text message in the event of a problem. In addition to protecting our bees, it is a great way to improve their living conditions.
Inventions and promising young people this year again, to whom we wish a bright future!
