Junior national teams – Admirans in action for Austria

ÖFB U15 screening course in Steinbrunn: The U15 national team screening course took place in Steinbrunn for four days. Three players from the Admira Academy were nominated. Timo Schissler, who is his team’s top scorer with seven goals from nine games, was able to secure a place in the selection thanks to his many goals. Nino Steyrer (two goals in ten games) and Ben Wieselthaler (two goals in eight games) were also nominated for the course in Burgenland.

ÖFB U16 national team

Admira’s U16 under coach Tilo Morbitzer often showed impressive performances this autumn season. This also becomes clear when you take a closer look at the call-ups for the U16 national team. Four Admirans earned their place in Hermann Stadler’s team. Nico Elbl (eleven appearances), Leo Kalintsch (eight appearances), David Wallner (eleven appearances) and David Wegleitner (eleven appearances) are allowed to represent their country internationally.

With his eight goals, Nico Elbl played a large part in his team’s success. Benjamin Glitia is on the call list. Austria’s U16s will face Switzerland in a friendly international double on November 28th and 30th. Both games will take place at 11 a.m. at the Burgenland Football Academy (Mattersburg).

ÖFB U18 national team

An international double was on the agenda for ex-Admiraner Manfred Zsak’s team. At the Lindabrunn sports school, the ÖFB selection met their peers from Finland twice. In addition to Panthers player Fabian Feiner (twelve appearances and one goal in the 2nd Regional League East), Admira’s U18 kicker Christopher Olsa (four goals in ten games in the U18 and two goals in four games with the Panthers) and Danny Kleinböck ( six appearances in the U18 and four appearances with Panthers).

Goalkeeper Janis Gattringer was on call. Christopher Olsa made his debut for the U18 national team at the age of 16. Austria won the first game against Finland 5-2. Feiner was in action in the first half and was substituted at half-time. Christopher Olsa came into play in the 72nd minute. The Austrians also won the second game. In the 3-1 win, Feiner played the entire second half of the game and Christopher Olsa came on in the 89th minute.
